It celebrates the end of British rule in 1947 and the beginning of a free and independent Indian nation.
This year, even though we cannot meet or step outside, we celebrate virtual Independence Day.However, this year Independence Day celebration was also limited in the wake of corona virus pandemic.
Now, we celebrate independence day in our school through online tools like Zoom screen sharing or Virtual Youtube videos. We have virtual dances when everyone films videos and our teacher edits them, we have virtual backgrounds and recordings of speeches and mediums online to contact each other for the program.
While this event was a celebration of our Independence Day, it was also aimed to convey to people that the nation always comes first. It also inspires people to fight for their nation in every possible way be it in expanding the boundaries of science and technology, the Arts or even in sports.
This event affects the viewers as it tells them about the people who sacrificed everything, even their own life, for the betterment of their country. Everyone collaborated well and the presentation was shot across various mediums- online and offline.
The Principal, Dr R Vardarajan and Director, Dr V Balasubramanium, both gave an empowering speech, telling the viewers esp the students that they should at any cost, defend their country from colonizers and evildoers. Students too narrated events that occurred during the war with extra zeal and honour. There was a dance which narrated the feelings of the mother of a martyr. Many students sang songs of praise towards India and its soldiers and martyrs.
Let us take a pledge today as students to do right by our country and make it proud in whatever we undertake!
Happy Independence Day!
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
