Independence Day is a national holiday observed on august 15.                                                                  It celebrates the end of British rule in 1947 and the beginning of a free and independent nation. 

Independence Day is celebrated with flag hoisting ceremonies, drills, the singing of the national anthem and dances commemorating the speciality of India. This year, even though we cannot meet or step outside, we can still have a virtual celebration of Independence Day. 

Sitting at our homes, we can view the speciality of India and how India played a big role in freedom.

The virtual art gallery depicted the freedom of India and why soldiers laid their life for our safety and protection. 


The moment that really touched my heart was the musical mash-up by the Student-Leaders of PYP 2/3/4 & 5. 

Many of the parents said that "The video was a true reflection of patriotism and spirit of India's 75th Independence Day.

While this event was a celebration of our Independence Day, it was also aimed to convey to people that the nation always comes first. It also inspires people to fight for their nation in every possible way be it in expanding the boundaries of science and technology, the Arts or even in sports.

This video left a long lasting message on the viewers to " Serve Your Country ". The presentation by the Student Leaders showed that we would do anything to serve our country.

Let us take a pledge to serve our country and make it proud in whatever we undertake!
